The 2010 Saline Celtic Fesitval Organizing Committee has begun planning this year's Festival. The 2010 information will be posted in the upcoming weeks. Please continue to check back for Celtic Week events. Here are some of the events from the 2009 Festival

Thursday: Rugby!

Rugby is an exciting sport full of contact and skill. Played throughout Celtic communities world-wide it is the fore runner of American Football.

After the matches fans can join the players at the local restaurants and pubs in celebration of the matches and good sportsmanship.

Friday: GAELIC FOOTBALL, MUSIC and FOOD

Irish (Gaelic) Football is a rough and tumble game played by two teams of 15. The primary object is to score by kicking or striking the ball with the hand and getting it through the goals. The ball is advanced up the field with a combination of carrying, soloing (dropping and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands), kicking, and hand-passing to their teammates. Admission is FREE.

Friday evening is the time for Festival's Pub in the Park. Music, food, entertainment. This year the group Tartanic brings hard driving Celtic music. Other events will be going on on the Festival Grounds such as Highland Athletics demonstrations, historic entertainers and much more. $5.00 at the gate.

Workshops in a variety of Celtic musical instruments taught by professionals who will be performing at the Saturday Festival. Fees and details to be announced.
