Sponsoring the Festival
The Saline Celtic Festival is held in July each year at Mill Pond Park in
Saline. The festival attracts over 3,200 attendees and over 1,000
volunteers and merchants. Each committee chairperson puts in
countless hours of their time to present the Saline community and
surrounding areas a successful
event that caters to festival goers
and presents a family-friendly
environment.
Celtic Tournaments and Games
Contestants enter tournaments loaded with both physical
and mental challenges, all the time trying to work their way
through the ranks of the Feudal System.
Celtic Music and Dancing
Saline Celtic Festivals have displayed a wide
range of musicians and dancers. From Road
Kilt to Chicago Reel to internationally
recognized Eileen Ivers, there have been a
myriad styles of cultural presentations.
The Highland Athletics and Games
Always one of the crowd favorites, the
Highland Athletics, sparks a lot of interest and positive
comments from festival goers. Competitors in the highland
games carry out traditions dating back to the eleventh
century. The events revolved around athletic and sports
competitions. and include both amateur and professional
athletes.
Our marketing efforts have included
numerous news articles highlighting all
aspects of the festival, press releases,
media promotions, and marketing
collateral. These efforts have reached
beyond Saline and Washtenaw County
into most of the surrounding counties in
some form.
Direct fundraising and corporate sponsorship has resulted in
substantial cash and in-kind contributions. Over 30 companies have
contributed annually that has resulted in a successful financial
impact on the Celtic Festival.
About the Friends of the Celtic Festival
In 2011 the festival formed the "Friends of the Festival", a 501(c)3
foundation established to aid in the fundraising and opertational
efforts of the festival. The foundation is designed to transition the
financial requirements and stability of the festival to the foundation
and away from the City of Saline in hopes of establishing an
independence that will result in stability for the future.
One unique way the Friends of the Festival supported the festival
was to create a 5K Walk/Run. This inaugural event had over 120
participants and created a 5K with a unique twist of having Bag Pipers
entertaining the runners throughout the route.
