CELTIC 500" PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

The Corgi Races will be approximately 100-feet in length (which is longer than the advertised 500” which was a punny marketing ploy but not a long enough track – LOL) and will be held on the Renewal by Anderson Speedway at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds during the Saline Celtic Festival on Saturday, July 8

Participating canines must be a corgi or corgi mix. If a mix, the dog must exhibit the physical characteristics of its corgi parent, not its long-legged parent. The Celtic 500” reserves the right to disqualify any dog that does not meet this guideline.

There are no weight restrictions.

Please confirm that your corgi(s) are current on their RABIES, BORDATELLA, LEPTOSPIROSIS and DISTEMPER vaccinations before arriving at the Festival.

Each participating corgi will need to bring two humans. Humans must be able to carry and/or catch the corgi.

All dogs must be on a leash at all times when not in the race area.

You will be responsible for cleaning up after your dog. Doo-doo bags will not be provided.

Dogs must be socialized with other dogs and people.

All owners must remove their dog and leave the event if their dog acts aggressively towards people or dogs, poses a safety risk to others, or appears to be unhealthy.

Remember this is for FUN! While there are prizes to be won, unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.

The total number of heats are dependent on the number of entries. You won’t know your heat until you check-in. First place for each heat will move on to a final championship heat.

All corgis and their humans (whether racing or not) will have access to the Corgi Pits located in adjacent to the Renewal by Anderson Speedway. There will be folding chairs & tables available for humans, and bowls of water for the corgis. Someone has suggested having a kiddie pool available for the corgis to cool down in the pits, which might happen, so maybe bring a corgi towel with you.
